Highly Melanated - Daniel Sarr

In Highly Melanated, six dancers move through the language of their ancestors and focus on the influence Africa has on jazz dance and the way we move today. A deep dive into where jazz comes from and how far back the movement patterns can be traced.

The performance is a choreographic journey that takes place in pre-colonial Africa, where kings & queens ruled, traditional tribes lived and the folk spirit ran free.
