The Figure Studies (Corps Premier) project aims to explore the relationship between dance and visual art, particularly historical depictions of the human figure. Rather than simply interpreting art through movement, the project seeks to develop a dance style that embodies the depth, texture, and expressive qualities of visual art. By studying different artistic styles and phases, it investigates how movement can reflect the intricate details and layered compositions found in paintings and sculptures.
